Bookkeeping pricing and accounting cost breakdown for Malaysian businesses

“How much do you charge?” is usually the first question I get from business owners. And I think that is completely fair. Before you commit to anything, you should know exactly what you are paying for and why.

I am going to be upfront in this article. Instead of giving you vague ranges or guesses about what “the market” charges, I am going to walk you through my actual pricing at IzzBookkeeping, explain what goes into each plan, and help you figure out which one fits your business. Everything here is what I actually charge my clients in KL, Shah Alam, and across Malaysia.

What affects bookkeeping cost

Before jumping to numbers, it helps to understand why two businesses do not pay the same amount. There are a few things that directly affect your monthly fee.

Your business structure

A sole proprietorship (enterprise) is simpler to manage than a Sdn Bhd. With an enterprise, you mainly need income and expense recording, bank reconciliation, and a Profit and Loss report for tax filing. A Sdn Bhd requires more detailed financial statements because under the Companies Act 2016, your accounts must be ready for audit. That means more work on my end, which is reflected in the pricing.

Transaction volume

A business with 30 transactions a month takes less time to manage than one with 300. This is the biggest factor. More transactions means more entries to record, more items to reconcile, and more time spent making sure everything is accurate.

Scope of work

Basic bookkeeping covers income and expense recording plus bank reconciliation. But some businesses also need receivables and payables tracking, cash flow reports, or regular consultations to review their numbers. The more you need, the higher the plan.

My monthly bookkeeping plans

I have four plans. Each one is designed for a different stage of business. Here is exactly what you get.

Starter

For sole proprietors and enterprises

RM300 to RM450

per month

Under 50 transactions per month

  • Monthly bookkeeping
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Monthly P&L report
  • Cloud based record keeping
  • WhatsApp support

This is for businesses that are just getting started or have a small number of transactions. If you run a freelance business, a small online shop, or a new enterprise, this plan covers the essentials.

Growth

Most popular

RM450 to RM650

per month

For PLTs and small Sdn Bhds with 50 to 150 transactions per month

  • Everything in Starter
  • Balance Sheet report
  • Cash flow report
  • Quarterly review

This is the plan most of my clients are on. If you have a Sdn Bhd and need proper financial statements for your auditor, or you want to review how your cash flow looks every quarter, this is the one.

Business

For medium sized Sdn Bhds

RM650 to RM850

per month

150 to 300 transactions per month

  • Everything in Growth
  • Aged receivables tracking
  • Payables tracking
  • Monthly consultation
  • Priority support

For businesses with higher volume that need closer attention. I track who owes you money, what bills are due, and we talk every month about how your numbers look.

Enterprise

For larger operations

RM850 to RM1,600

per month

300+ transactions per month

  • Everything in Business
  • Custom reporting
  • Dedicated support
  • Tailored scope based on your needs

If you have a high volume operation like a restaurant chain, a busy retail business, or multiple revenue streams, I customise the scope to fit exactly what you need.

Every plan includes the basics: monthly bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, cloud based record keeping, and WhatsApp support. No hidden charges. The price you see is the price you pay. You can see the full comparison on my pricing page.

One time services

Not every business needs monthly bookkeeping right away. Some just need help sorting out a specific problem. Here is what I offer as one time services.

ServiceEnterpriseSdn Bhd
Annual Account Cleanup
1 year of unrecorded transactions
RM800 to RM1,500RM1,800 to RM3,100
Backlog Cleanup
2 to 3 years of backlog
RM1,500 to RM2,500RM3,000 to RM5,000
Tax Submission Coordination
Reports prepared for tax agents
RM250 to RM400RM400 to RM600
Bookkeeping Setup
New business system setup
RM500 to RM800RM800 to RM1,200

A lot of my clients actually start with a one time cleanup and then move to a monthly plan once their books are in order. If you have a backlog of receipts and bank statements sitting in a drawer, the cleanup gets everything sorted so we can start fresh going forward.

How to know which plan is right for you

Here is a simple way to think about it based on the businesses I work with.

  • You just registered a new enterprise or freelance business. You have fewer than 50 transactions a month, mostly straightforward sales and expenses. The Starter plan at RM300 to RM450 covers everything you need.
  • You run a PLT or small Sdn Bhd. Maybe a small cafe, an online store, or a service business with 50 to 150 transactions. You need proper financial statements for your auditor. The Growth plan at RM450 to RM650 gives you that, plus quarterly reviews so you can see how your business is actually doing.
  • Your Sdn Bhd is growing and you have 150 to 300 transactions a month. You want to track who owes you money, what bills are coming up, and have someone to talk to every month about your numbers. The Business plan at RM650 to RM850 is built for this.
  • You have a high volume business with 300+ transactions. Maybe a restaurant, a retail operation, or a business with multiple revenue channels. The Enterprise plan starts at RM850 and I customise the scope to fit what you actually need.

If you are not sure where you fall, just message me on WhatsApp and tell me about your business. I will tell you straight which plan makes sense and what it will cost. No obligation and no hard sell.

What is included in every plan

Regardless of which plan you choose, here is what you get as standard.

  • Income and expense recording. I record all your business income and expenses throughout the month.
  • Bank and settlement reconciliation. I match transactions from your banks, payment gateways, and sales platforms so nothing is missed.
  • Receipt and invoice filing. I organise your business receipts and invoices so everything is easy to find.
  • Financial reports. At minimum, you get a monthly Profit and Loss report. Higher plans include Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and custom reports.
  • Tax preparation support. I keep your records organised and ready for tax submission. If needed, I can connect you with our collaborating tax agent.
  • WhatsApp support. You can reach me via WhatsApp throughout the month. I am always just a message away.

You can see the full list of services on my services page.

Why I keep my pricing transparent

I have heard from too many business owners who signed up with a provider, got quoted one price, and then found extra charges showing up for bank reconciliation, report generation, or e-invoicing support. That should not happen.

With me, the price I quote is the price you pay. If your business grows and you need to move up a plan, I will tell you in advance. There are no surprise fees at the end of the month and no lock in contracts. If the service is not working for you, you can stop.

I believe that if a bookkeeper cannot tell you clearly what you will pay before you start, that is already a problem.
